A local rehabilitation facility has a new owner.
Birmington-based HealthSouth Corp. announced Thursday it would buy Reliant Hospital Partners in a $730 million cash deal. Reliant operates 11 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, including the Dayton Rehabilitation Institute, a 50-bed rehabilitation hospital based at One Elizabeth Place downtown.
In a release, HealthSouth said it would assume the lease obligations for all acquired hospitals.
