A quarter of Ohio bridges are 'functionally obsolete,' U.S. Senator says

One in four Ohio bridges are obsolete, says one senator pushing for federal funding to help make fixes. More than 6,500 bridges in Ohio are "structurally deficient" or "functionally obsolete", said U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, R-OH, with most relying on federal funds for improvements and upgrades. In Montgomery County alone, 146 of 652 bridges are functionally obsolete, according to numbers from Brown's office.
