Dayton Sunday Reading List – June 7

Happy Sunday!  Hope you enjoy these great Dayton articles:

This Architect May Change Your Mind About the Arcade by Olivia Barrow (Dayton Business Journal) – I always feared that The Arcade was too far gone to save but I always secretly hoped it would be revived once again.  I want to believe a new generation of Dayton will get to experience the magic of this amazing place and based on a recent feasibility study, The Arcade could breathe new life into the region.  I have a distant memory of eating in the food court one day with my grandmother but I would love to make some new and lasting memories in this architectural gem!

Learn the Joy of Cooking – in Oakwood! by Lauren Rinehart (Dayton Local) – I absolutely loved getting to try my first ever cooking class.  Jo is an amazing teacher!

Vandalia Man Plays ‘Two Roles’ at LaComedia by Gary Gregory (Vandalia Drummer) – One of my favorite people from my high school drama besties – Ray Zupp – is featured in this great article about his set design and the character he plays in LaComedia’s Addams Family musical.

Find Out What Your Name Would Be If You Were Born Today (Time.com) – Ok, this doesn’t have anything to do with Dayton but I absolutely loved this quiz.  Just enter a name, birth year, and gender (I know, there are only two, which is sort of lame, but I get it for this type of data) and it will figure out your name rank for your birth year and tell you the name you would have had if you had been born in the decades before and after.  I had the 14th most popular name in 1986!  If you want to see some seriously amazing names, try my grandpa’s:  “Carlton” “1938” “Male”
