Most people think of the farmer’s market as an early morning tradition. You get up Saturday or Sunday at the crack of dawn to head down to your local market to pick up local produce from area farmers. One group in the area is looking to put this traditional model on it’s head. “We are catering to a new and growing group of consumers who love fresh produce but would prefer to do their shopping in the evening. That’s why we created Night Market” Brian Johnson, organizer, said.
Touting more than 30+ vendors at their next Night Market, organizers say, “Attendees will be able to find all the great produce, cottage food vendors, food trucks and handmade items they would see at a traditional farmers market. We are very humbled by the amount of support we have seen from local vendors. Creating a market is about both providing a great experience for attendees and a sustainable outlet for local vendors” Johnson said. “A huge part of our mission at the Yellow Cab is to support small business and our community by elevating these micro businesses and giving them a space to promote who they are and what they do.” he continued.
Night Market attendees may be surprised to find there is one item available that they are not able to pick up at their normal market. “Yes, we’ll have craft beer from local breweries available all night.” Brian said. “We believe that any market should be a social experience. It’s a great opportunity to come relax. have a brew, chat with your friends and neighbors then do some shopping.” he continued.
There will be a variety of vendors in attendance at Night Market including; local farmers, sauce makers, bakers, beef jerky, spice shops, coffee, food trucks and more. For more information about “Night Market” and a complete list of vendors, people can go to their Facebook, www.facebook.com/
