U.S. Air Force launching $7M project for green explosive material

The U.S. Air Force is taking proposals for a $7 million effort to boost production of a green material for explosive devices. Air Force Research Laboratory, which is headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, began advertising this week for its Green Energetics Project. The project involves finding a way to make large batches of an environmentally-friendly material used for detonation in military ordnance.
